About the speaker:
Arnav Mariwala is the Founder & CEO of MariTide, a seaweed cultivation and processing company scaling up edible seaweed supply chains through advances in cultivation technology. Arnav has a background in technology, climate, and venture capital – previously, he was climate lead at the early-stage fund Aureolis Ventures, and led new markets development at the climate risk company ClimateAi. He also co-founded the climate risk company HighTide.Ai, leaving after HighTide’s acquisition by Echelon.
Arnav has a B.S. in Physics and an M.S. in Geophysics from Stanford University. He is deeply passionate about the ocean and climate resilience and spends time sailing, diving, and surfing. He is currently based in Mumbai, India and previously lived in San Francisco.

MariTide is a seaweed startup based in Mumbai with a cultivation facility in Devgad, MH, India. The company is building controlled environment cultivation systems designed to scale up production of high-yielding, high-protein seaweeds for applications in food, nutraceuticals, feed supplements, and bioremediation, utilizing green seaweeds widely found in tropical waters around the world. MariTide’s vision is to build a regenerative food system that protects coastal ecosystems and makes seaweed a viable source of food and protein.
